These were some of the things that I enjoyed best...once upon a time...
Simple and fun, when life seemed to be much less complicated.
But then, that's what Nostalagia Lane is really all about, isn't it?
Looking forward to that particular time slot, once every week, for catching 'Der Kommisar' a fantastic German serial dubbed in English on Delhi Doordarshan.Simply because it was the only proper Detective serial that we could view.
Eating 'Chaat, particularly 'Golgappas' at that corner in South Extn Part 1, because they tasted the best..
Or was it because that 'chaatwaala' was our friend gave us two extra for the same price?
Simply because our monthly allowance could be made to stretch only that much...
Heading towards Janpath and buying shirts/T shirts for Rs 25. (yes thats true... ) for that's all they cost. And therefore being able to have a great wardrobe for college.
Eating a whole Hot Chocolate fudge at Nirulas and loving it.
So what if one was groaning with a stomach ache, one hour later,(the result of sheer greed...)
More musings follow...in my next blog entry
All Delhites going down "nostalgia lane" must make a mention of HCF at Nirula's!! Delhi is my adopted city. I go down the nostalgia lanes of Bombay (not Mumbai mind you, but Bombay).2 days back I got a call from a college friend of mine and it was enough to send me reminiscing down the "nostalgia lane". So much so that for the first time in our 20 years of married life my husband got to hear of my college dalliances and he didn't like it a bit. So much for "Nostalgia Lane". Mudita.
