Spring, Sea and Jazz......

There are evenings and then there are some others..
Like the one we experienced yesterday.

Watching a performance by the Chris Bayers Jazz Quarttet, brought into Muscat under the auspices of the US Embassy here, was a delightful as well an enlightening experience.

For one, it was held on the lawns ovelooking the Arabian sea, on a perfect Spring evening.

With the wind blowing gently, or then sometimes...not so gently...

For another, the Quartet played magnificiently.
Most notably, focusing on the works of GG Grace- Bashir Qasim, a Jazz legend, and we had the privilege of listening to some of his unpublished work as well.

And finally, the sheer ambience of it all.
A full two and a half hours of pure , undiluted wonderfully played Jazz by performers who absolutely love what they do. ..............
